School Improvement Plan

Mission Statement:
It is the mission of Vicenza Elementary School to provide a curriculum in which each student has opportunities to develop skills applicable to real life situations in the 21st century.

Target Goals:

1. All students will improve writing communication across the curriculum.
   We define writing communication across the curriculum as the ability to organize and compose information as developmentally appropriate.
2. All students will improve mathematical reasoning across the grade levels.
   We define mathematical reasoning as the ability to demonstrate critical thinking by using mathematical concepts to solve problems in daily life.

Interventions:

• Instructional Intervention for Goal 1
  Teachers will use a variety of writing instructional strategies that will assist students in becoming more proficient at communicating, organizing, and composing.
• Instructional Intervention for Goal 2
  Teachers will use a variety of instructional strategies that will assist students in becoming more proficient at mathematical reasoning and able to solve problems in daily life.
• Communication Intervention
  The school will develop and utilize various avenues to increase awareness of the School Improvement Plan efforts and progress to all the stakeholders.
• SHC Partnership Intervention
  The school will develop and utilize various avenues to bring parents and community into the students’ learning process.
• Technology Intervention
  The school will further develop ways to use technology in regular instruction to prepare students for the future.
